World Refugee Day

Today is 20 June 2011.

World Refugee Day.

Sixty years ago, in 1951, the United Nations adopted the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.

In our times, it’s the conflicts of the major powers, which the latter play out upon the landscapes and bodies of the Second and Third Worlds, which create the preponderance of refugees. The USA and USSR in Afghanistan and Ethiopia and Somalia and Indochina, the USA in Central America, etc.

Refugees are a consequence and product of “Our Ways of Life”.

Enjoy your dinner. Most refugees probably won’t, thanks to us.
