I.W.D.

Today is Monday, 8 March 2010.

Happy International Women’s Day!

The first I.W.D. was observed on 28 February 1909, following its proclamation by the Socialist Party of America. It was first observed on 8 March in 1913, when women across Europe held marches and rallies against the political and economic conditions which were leading to World War One.

Surprise: I.W.D. is not officially observed in the USA/USE.

I'm a life-long democratic anarcho-socialist. I also have loved calves' liver, spinach, cauliflower, etc. since I was a child, which probably explains much.

I'll discuss democratic anarcho-socialism and dinosaurism within the next week.
