Homophobes Say the Darndest Things

Today is Thursday, 1 April 2010.

Tuesday last on Larry King Live, William A. Donohue said, of the 200+ male child victims of a rapist priest: “The vast majority of the victims are post-pubescent. That’s not pedophilia, buddy. That’s homosexuality."

Would Donohue also claim that raping girls over the age of 12 isn’t child molesting, but heterosexuality? Donohue’s claim is absurd and fascistic on its face. Larry King and CNN should be ashamed of donating air time to a rabid homophobic bigot such as Donohue.

Donohue is president of a fringe extremist group, The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, and a vocal, practicing anti-Semite.

On 8 December 2004, on Scarborough Country, Donohue defended Mel Gibson’s anti-Semitic movie, The Passion of the Christ: "Hollywood is controlled by secular Jews who hate Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular. It's not a secret, OK? And I'm not afraid to say it. That's why they hate this movie. It's about Jesus Christ, and it's about truth. It's about the Messiah".

Donohue loves the smell of Auschwitz in the morning. It smells like … victory.
