Transforming Buried Bodies

Today is Monday, 30 October 2006.

The hallmark of the second reign of Donald Rumsfeld over the War Department has been the mantra of “transformation”. The concept is, of course, far more slogan than concept, let alone an operational plan.

It seems to involve two main amorphous notions. First, use extant, even ancient resources in imaginative ways. (Wonder why no one ever thought of that?) Second, employ fewer infantry and more high-tech weapons and computing power.

We have all witnessed the astonishing success by "transformation" in achieving the mission accomplished in Iraq more than 3 years ago.

Recently, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), the House Majority Leader, said that the American military needs transformation, and that no leader in the past 25 years is better equipped for the task than Donald Rumsfeld, because “he knows where all the bodies in the Pentagon are buried”.

Given that the failed policies of Rumsfeld are responsible for burying many tens of thousands of corpses, this seems an infelicitous figure of speech.

Now, Now...
Behave yourself HH.

The Chimperor's new clothes are most beautiful and the Rummy Lord makes a most handsome attendant to the privy council. Surely a finely honed olfactory sense would be a detriment to someone holding such exalted office.

"Now, Now, Now".

HH will not betray humanity and the planet by "behaving himself".

As we said in New York City: "ACT UP!"
