Bobby Darin Rules!

Today is Thursday, 15 March 2007.

"Ceasar, beware the Ides of March".

This one is for a special friend, who wants me to post happy columns every once in a while. You know who you are, and I know where you live.

Bobby Darin was and is a genuis. Compared to the B Man, Sinatra sucks.

Check out Bobby's Mack the Knife:

It's not just the masterful singing, but check out the body language, especially the hand moves. This man had all the moves, way before hip hop (the clip is from 1959).

Enjoy.

Gotta disagree with ya on this one H squared.

He seems to be trying to project the easy cool of a Hoagy Carmichael with a torchy kind of Tony Bennett vocal style.

Just doesn't do it for me. Besides, ya gotta believe that Frankie has been there when singing about scarlet billows flowing.
