Just received the flash that Socks, the White House cat during the Clinton regime, was euthanized today after a long battle with cancer.
Here at MoB, we're big lovers of critters. Spay. If you have the means, adopt a homeless critter. Always be only kind to them, for all they want is to love you and be loved.

Wow, the newsbit says Socks was born in 1989 - pretty long life for a feline, even one with the finest care. And Socks was himself a stray before being adopted by Chelsea.
Happy trails, Socks. Now he's off in the ethereal, smackin' his old friend Buddy around like he used to at the WH.
Did you know that President Warren Harding had a Airedale, Laddie Boy, who had his own hand-carved chair so he could attend Cabinet meetings? He also delivered the newspaper to the president each day.
White House might not be such a bad place to live if you're a pet.
