In Memory: Victims of Katrina and the Republican Party

Today is Sunday, 29 August 2010.

The Museum of the Bourgeois memorializes with great sorrow all the lives lost, and all the lives forever damaged, in Hurricane Katrina.

The failed Republican War of Aggression Against Iraq will eventually cost at least $3 trillion. Had a fraction of this been spent in defense of the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, the tragedy would not have been so great. Alas, spending available monies for the defense of New Orleans was not an interest of the Bush regime and the Republican Party.

Justice for the victims of Katrina, and for many other victims, demands the permanent removal of the Republican Party from all national political offices, which removal it has earned.

Remove the Republican Party from all national political offices? Good luck with that.

Such infinite silliness... Reminiscent of four-year-olds calling names and taunting each other in the sandbox. I think I'll remove myself from such juvenile exercises, and the excrement, before I get ringworm.

It's already been said many, many times:

"I join in HH's anger at injustice, but I agree with (an earlier comment) -- if HH would tone down the rhetoric a bit, more people would seriously consider the substance of his commentary. Fair or not, extreme language is often less persuasive than quieter discourse." 7 July 2010.

"Justice... demands the permanent removal of the Republican Party from all national political offices..." What piffle.

The level of discourse found in HH's recent blogs is typical of the Tea Bagger mentality, or the likes of Glenn Beck and his ilk - they're just shouting from the other side.

The last time I heard this kind of drivel gurgled out was a middle school debate contest. That poor little boy didn't even make the cut to go on the bus with the team to Poughkeepsie.

Dear Anonymous -

You are so right about this blog.

I, too, am going to remove myself from these "juvenile exercises, and the excrement"; I don't have ringworm, but I do have blurry vision and a headache.

Perhaps it "feels good", but excrement doesn't displace reasoned arguments.

Whose reasoned arguements are you speaking of? That's part of the point we are making.

Mere assertion unsupported by analysis and examples doesn't make anything.

Yes, but again, snarky presentation blurs perception, not matter what.
