Mitt and the Hobgoblins

Today is Thursday, 15 November 2012.

On this date in 1930, one of the great 20th century writers, J. G. Ballard, was born.  Long ghettoized as a science fiction writer, he described his interest as “inner space”.  If you don’t know his work, begin with the moving short story, “The Voices of Time” (1960).  “You're not alone, Powers, don't think you are. These are the voices of time, and they're all saying goodbye to you ... every particle in your body, every grain of sand, every galaxy carries the same signature ... you know what the time is now, so what does the rest matter?”

In Self-Reliance, Ralph Waldo Emerson writes:  “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.”

In at least two phone calls to top donors, the day after the humiliating conclusion of his grab at President, Mitt said the following.

"What the president, president's campaign did was focus on certain members of his base coalition, give them extraordinary financial gifts from the government, and then work very aggressively to turn them out to vote.  With regards to the young people, for instance, a forgiveness of college loan interest, was a big gift.”

“Free contraceptives were very big with young college-aged women.  And then, finally, Obamacare also made a difference for them, because as you know anybody now 26 years of age and younger was now going to be part of their parents' plan, and that was a big gift to young people. They turned out in large numbers, a larger share in this election even than in 2008."

"You can imagine for somebody making $25,000 or $30,000 or $35,000 a year, being told you're now going to get free health care, particularly if you don't have it, getting free health care worth, what, $10,000 per family, in perpetuity, I mean, this is huge.  Likewise with Hispanic voters, free health care was a big plus. But in addition with regards to Hispanic voters, the amnesty for children of illegals, the so-called Dream Act kids, was a huge plus for that voting group."

And they all drive welfare Cadillacs, so they can fit in all those out-of-wedlock piccaninnies.  (Obviously, whores like that tend to forget to use the free contraceptives.)  Certainly, no “white” folks will benefit from the Affordable Care Act, no “whites” secure student loans or contraceptives, no “whites” receive any benefits from the government, etc.
Mitt the 47% White Supremacist racist never left:  he just went into temporary seclusion with his hobgoblins.
seclusion with his hobgoblins.

Keep it up Mitt. When the rest of the GOP finally gets that 47% is a loser strategy, they will hang it around your neck and drop you in the ocean.
