Extra! Read All About It!

Today is Thursday, 23 August 2006.

Yes, dear friends, for the first time in its history, The Museum of the Bourgeois is going ex cathedra.

In a loud, resounding, firm voice, We Declare: Pluto remains a planet.

Take that!, you foolish voting majority of the International Astronomical Union, who shortly ago demoted and decertified Pluto.

"Hic sunt dracones" (Here be dragons) - a phrase that time and lore has said was printed at the edges of early maps. (Research, compliments of Google, indicates this appears only on the Lenox Globe (ca. 1503-07), copper, 13cm in diameter, and located in the collection of the New York Public Library.)

In any given span of time, conventional wisdom, educated wisdom (or whatever you'd want to call it) regards certain things in certain ways. Newly expanded knowledge and applied criteria say that Pluto is not a plant. I say this with respect and affection . . . The MoB needs to get a grip and get over it.
