Once upon a time, we lived on the hill surveying the Staten Island Ferry, the St. George/Fort Hill/Etc. hood. When Paul Newman and Martin Sheen first came to NYC, they lived in the same hood, because it was cheap, which is why we lived there too, and incidentally it is scenic.

The Long, Hot Summer (original version) which you are watching is one of my all time favorite movies. The TV movie remake (1985), is, I believe equally as good.
The 1985 movie is cast as follows:
Don Johnson in the Paul Newman role
Jason Robards in the Orsen Wells role
Ava Gardner in the Angela Lansbury role
Judith Ivy in the Joanne Woodward role
